Audlyn's Story

As we enter our eighth year of assisting Kansas City families who are fighting cancer, the Foundation wants to share personal stories of the people that we have helped. In any given month, we receive numerous grant applications - and each family is unique. The Stephanie Vest Foundation is blessed to help these families on your behalf. We could not do what we do without your continuous support through donations and participation in our events: The Pink Friday Trivia Night and the Pink Laundry Run 5K.

Audalyn's Story:
In late June, the Foundation met with a local elementary school teacher, Audalyn, who is a single mom fighting breast cancer. Due to chemo treatments at the end of 2015 and early 2016, she was unable to work for several months. This reduced her income significantly. When we met with her in June, she had exhausted all resources, and the bills continue to roll in.

With your help, we were able to provide Audalyn and her son with enough money to pay all of their bills for the months of July and August. In addition, we assisted with some anticipated back to school expenses. Audalyn is 100% able to return to teaching at the end of August and is looking forward to putting this struggle behind her. This is a perfect example of how your donations help us “bridge the gap” for families in need.
